Sebastopol Memories

I’ve known Virginia thirty-four years. She welcomed me into her home and into her life when I was twenty-two and she was fifty-five (my age now). I drove from North Carolina to Los Angeles, California in my yellow and black Ford Pinto to this stranger’s house. The year was 1977.
Today, Virginia lives in Sebastopol, California with her daughter Carol. Because of Virginia and her three daughters (all older than me), Sebastopol feels like home.
These are some of the memories from Virginia and Carol’s house that I carry with me back into my life as live-on volunteer at Manzanita Park (Prunedale, California).

Carol made these beautiful curtains.

Carol's Blue Bottle

I love the reflection that this blue bottle made.

Sebastopol Gingee Virginia's Bed

Gingee was in heaven as she lie in the sun on Virginia’s bed.

Virginia's Window

Gingee looked beyond Virginia’s window sill into the world …

My,My,

The beauty of your soul has attracted people of equal beauty! You are a complex soul.

The more you share and reveal! Your Mentors are well chosen and seem to revel in the beauty of this journey of personal freedom! The welcoming of Gingee to share their sunlight on their bed is a very special act, but She is a Special Girl!!
