The implications of this grooming session are huge. Mainly, there will be less hair to vacuum and dust off everything including dark pants, fleecy jackets, the floor, the bedding, tables, the car interior, the sofa and her three dog beds. Which reminds me, we’re replacing two of her dog beds – they were inherited from Dakota (our old Australian Sheppard) and had years of wear already before she took them over. That calls for a little shopping.
Another benefit of Gingee’s grooming will be that she picks up less of the out-of-doors in her hair. Hopefully that translates into fewer fleas and ticks and sticks and weeds.
Of course, with less hair to attract dirt, she’ll stay cleaner. And although she is already super cute, I think her haircut makes her cuter still. What do you think?
This picture was taken this morning (pre-grooming).
Here she is after grooming.
She looks like such a big girl now (with her first haircut at 2 1/2).
It’s my goal to do right by my doggie girl. I try to feed her nutritious food, give her a good amount of exercise every day, protect her from harm and make sure she gets play when she wants it. Sadly for me, I want to give her more affection than she is interested in (I would have her in my lap constantly if she was up for it with a steady stream of kisses and pats on her little head). She liked humongous amounts of attention when she was younger. Oh well, I have to let her outgrow stages in her life even if I especially like a particular stage.
John is going to be surprised when he gets home today. I didn’t tell him what we were up to. Wouldn't you love to see his face?

So when does Mom get spoiled and have a relaxing day at the Spa? (The people spa)
Yep, wouldn't it be great if they didn't shed? It would sure save me a lot of work. :)
